2-Day Workshop for Researchers in Social Sciences

Eurasia Partnership Foundation/Caucasus Research and Resources Centre (EPF/CRRC) and the International Centre for Migration Policy and Development (ICMPD) invite you to a 2-day workshop within the framework of the EU-funded MOBILAZE project.

(FYI lunch and refreshments will be provided for all participants over the 2 days, however we cannot cover accommodation and travel expenses, so applicants must be based in Baku, or willing to cover their own travel costs).

Do you have a social phenomenon you want to investigate but you are not sure how? Would you like to learn how research can be used to help understand migration patterns in Azerbaijan and the wider region? Do you want to know about the tools you can use for empirical research to explore other areas?

30 successful applicants will be invited to attend, where international migration experts and experienced researchers Roland Hosner and Dr Michaella Vanore will deliver a 2-day workshop from 10-11 October, 2017. The sessions will be interactive and will cover both quantitative and qualitative methods to explore a range of research questions, as well as a session designed to help you apply these methods to the issue of migration specifically.

Successful applicants should:

  1. be current Masters students or graduates with Masters degrees.

have limited experience to date in Research Methods for Social Sciences.

  1. have fluent English (all sessions will be delivered in English)
  2. be between the ages of 21 and 35.
  3. be available to attend both full days of the workshop.
  4. be highly motivated to use the skills they learn in their own research projects and studies.
