  1. Applicants have to register and log into the Online Application System of the GPTS. Further guidelines will be available after login. During the application process, you may save your data at any time and return to the online system at a later date. Changes are possible until you submit or the deadline ends. Through the system, applicants are required to provide
  • University degree certificates and transcripts of records;
  • Contact details of two referees who will be asked to provide letters of recommendation;
  • A proposal for their doctoral project with a working plan;
  • A letter of motivation;
  • Proof of language skills (see above for English, plus – if applicable – other languages relevant to the proposed project);
  • Further information about their education, work experience and other skills;
  • A possible supervisor from the Cluster/HCTS.

The proposed doctoral project must have a clear connection to the general research framework of the Cluster/HCTS.

  1. The selection committee shortlists the most promising applicants and invites them to present their projects at a Job Market in Heidelberg. In preparation for the Job Market, the invited applicants may contact suitable supervisors at the Cluster to discuss their proposed projects.
  2. Subsequent to the interviews, the scholarship holders will be selected.
