Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition
The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung first promoted the Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition as a local exhibition in 1996. By April 2002 it had already grown into an internationally recognized annual event and become a globally important art exchange platform. Every year, there are more than 1,500 artists from around the world submitting works in eleven fine arts categories: Ink Wash Painting, Calligraphy, Seal Graving, Glue Color Painting, Oil Painting, Watercolor Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture, Crafts and Digital Art. To ensure a fair and objective competition, the organizers invite experts and scholars to form jury committees. The exhibition entails planning, collecting submissions, judging, and finishes with an awards ceremony. In the end, a total of about two hundred exceptional works of art are awarded prizes: the top three prizes, awards of merit and short-listed for the eleven fine arts categories. Every first prize winner in each category is also automatically enrolled in competition for the five limited, Da Dun Prizes, which represent this exhibition’s ultimate honor.
All domestic and foreign artists.
Participants can apply to multiple categories, but may only submit one item for each category. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any applicant from participating in the Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition for a three-year period if they are found copying, imitating or forging the works of other artists.
Submitted artworks must be original, individual creations completed. Artworks, as well as works from the same series of an artwork, that have received awards (excluding academic awards) or been short-listed at any other art exhibitions may not be submitted.
First Prize Winners of Each Category: around 3340 EUR (tax inclusive) and a first-prize award certificate.
Second Prize Winners of Each Category: around 2227 EUR (tax inclusive) and a second-prize award certificate.
Third Prize Winners of Each Category: around 1391 EUR (tax inclusive) and a third-prize award certificate.
Award of Merit Winners: One to four participants in each category will be presented with this award, with the total number of recipients for this award not exceeding 34. Each recipient will receive around 417 EUR (tax inclusive) and an award of merit certificate.
Short-Listed participants: Several participants from each category will be granted a short-listing certificate.
Each winner will receive a Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition album containing all winning artworks for the event.
All award-winning artworks besides short-listed works may be invited to take part in an oversea exhibition tour in the following year,
