How to Read the Surveillance Discourse and Fight It
Cooperation and development network is announcing a call for participants for the seminar “Digitised security: How to read the surveillance discourse and fight it!”, which will take place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 24 to 30 April 2017.
During this week-long event 40 young people from all over Europe will be brought together. This event will burst the Green bubble by closely collaborating with digital rights and hacker organisations from across the region and the rest of Europe. This seminar is not for nerds only, it will unite people who are new to the topic with seasoned digital rights activists. The aim is creating a vibrant environment to produce sustainable and long lasting collaboration to fight for our common digital rights!
All sessions will be conducted in English.
- Young people with a background in digital and/or human rights activism as well as young green activists and members of green organisations;
- Coming from any Council of Europe member states, as well as Kosovo, Belarus and Kazakhstan;
- Both activists with experience in digital rights as well those who are new to the field and want to get to know this important topic are warmly invited to apply.
The full cost of lodging (accommodation, food, and refreshments) during the seminar will be covered by the organisers. In exchange, there will be participation fee of 30 EUR for participants coming from non-EU countries and 50 EUR for participants coming from EU countries (and Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland). According to the project’s financial agreement, travel costs will be reimbursed up to a limit of 70%.
