The Prague Civil Society Centre is seeking an exceptional candidate to join as a Finance Officer.

Position & Responsibilities

We are hiring a Finance Officer to join our Innovation & Communication Programme or our Learning & Exchange Programme.

The position is a full-time roles based in our office in Prague.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for ensuring various programmes and events of the Centre confirm with the Centre’s policies, procedures and guidelines, statutory requirements and ‘best practice’ principles. They will work alongside Programme Officers within either the Learning & Exchange team or the Innovation & Communication team and be in charge of co-operation between their team and the Finance & Administration department.

Specifically, the Finance Officer will:

  • Participate in the development of the overall programme budget, and assist Programme Officers with the development of the individual project budgets (such as conferences, workshops, internships, scholarships, mini-grants)
  • Prepare  and monitor contracts with vendors/suppliers, event participants and partners
  • Review financial reports of the programme’s partners
  • Collect, reconcile and archive financial documents received from partners
  • Ensure timely and diligent payment process
  • Track programme expenditure and review cost allocation on Navision (finance software)
  • Prepare financial reports for the programme and assist Programme Officers in developing individual project reports
  • Monitor the work of the programme to ensure compliance with internal requirements (including procurement/tender)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • University Degree in finance, accounting, management and economics or at least two years’ experience in a relevant field (e.g. project and financial management or accounting)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Russian (knowledge of Czech is an asset). Please note that candidates who do not speak both English and Russian will be automatically disqualified.
  • Basic competence in accounting, finance and administration
  • Good computer skills (MS Office), excellent knowledge of Excel
  • High-level of self-organisation, reliability and diligence in approach to work
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good capacity to work in a multi-national team, patience and team-spirit
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the Prague Civil Society Centre

The role is full-time (40 hours per week). The position comes with a competitive salary and 25 days of annual leave.
