Position:  Assistant Manager

Role Purpose:

To assist Project Manager in supervision of the Geophysical Surveys and Construction Support Projects in Azerbaijan and to ensure that projects are completed in a timely, efficient and professional manner, in accordance with Company procedures and HSE/Quality standards.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • To conduct supportive activities in accordance with GAS Quality Management System requirements
  • To assist Project Manager in compliance with HSE matters during operation planning and execution
  • To participate in execution of the project day to day in order to ensure all contractual obligations and schedules are met
  • To keep contacts with Customer Representative during projects, especially with technical division
  • To state the use of the Survey Procedures regarding the technical aspects of the project


Key Tasks

  • Under the Project Manager’s supervision provide a comprehensive handover of documentation and information, promptly after contract award
  • Prepare a detailed project schedule and handover it to Project Manager for review
  • Assist Project Manager in supervision of the on-going project day to day, following their preparation, operational and closing step
  • Compile that all project procedures and any deliverables are checked and approved prior to submission to the client
  • Assist the Project Manager in selecting and allocating an adequate number of human resources to the project according with contract’s requirement
  • In agreement with the Survey Manager and Project Manager, assign the proper equipment resources for Data Acquisition to the project
  • Keep in contact with local and foreign suppliers regarding possible involved activities
  • Assist the Project Manager in control the observance of the Quality Plan and the application of the Quality Procedures in every project
  • Ensure the equipment assigned to a project to have the correct and updated maintenance
  • Together with Project Manager provide concise and accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Evaluate project performance identifying best practice and areas for improvement


  • At least 3 years working experience as an Assistant Manager in Survey Projects (Geophysical or Construction)
  • Diploma in Land Surveyor or Academic qualification in Geophysics, Geology or Civil Engineering
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Able to read and understand contracts
  • Survey Procedure writing proficiency
  • Computer literacy : Office package (including Microsoft Project) , Autocad package
