UCRS Visiting Scholarship at Uppsala University, Sweden

DESCRIPTION

Uppsala Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies (UCRS) PhD Student Association announces one visiting scholarship for a PhD student pursuing research relevant to that of the UCRS.

The UCRS is a multi-disciplinary research centre at Uppsala University, Sweden, with an in-depth focus on Russia and the rest of the post-Soviet space. It is designed to meet the highest international standards of scientific excellence and spans across the humanities and the social sciences, as well as law and theology. The UCRS research agenda is divided into three thematic areas: State and Market, Identity Formation and Russia’s Neighboring Countries (http://www.ucrs.uu.se/Research/Research+Themes/).

SCHOLARSHIP

This visiting scholarship covers all the costs associated with a one-month-long research stay at the UCRS. The scholarship covers travel and accommodation costs as well as a grant of 10.000 SEK (before tax) for living expenses. The successful applicant will also have access to an office desk, computer and office supplies.

The primary purpose of the scholarship is to allow the selected doctoral student to get advantage of the multidisciplinary research environment of the UCRS, acquire new scholarly contacts, and work on his/her doctoral project. The research stay must take place during the spring semester of 2017. Exact period will be agreed upon with the successful applicant.

The PhD student must be based at an institution of higher education in Poland or one of the three Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania.
